PROJEX, Inc. was founded in 1996 by Thomas E. Heifner, P.E. Mr. Heifner is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He also has a M.S. in Management from the University of Southern California. Mr. Heifner is a Registered Professional Engineer with experience in civil and structural design, engineering forensics, inspections, project administration, construction management, and risk assessment.
Mr. Heifner maintains Professional Engineering licenses in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. During his nearly 40 years of experience, he has designed and managed a large number of engineering projects in the public and private sectors. He also has experience in the construction of various commercial, industrial, residential, and public works projects. Those projects have included both infrastructure designs and finish-use facilities throughout the United States. Additionally, Mr. Heifner has participated in numerous international projects.
As Principal-in-Charge, Project Manager, or Design Engineer, his career encompasses a broad spectrum of engineering practice including: highways, drainage facilities, railroads, ports and harbors, industrial parks, residential subdivisions, shopping centers, golf courses, airports, treatment plants, condominiums, residences, retail stores, HVAC issues, and utility systems.
Mr. Heifner has extensive experience in providing expert testimony at hearings, depositions, and trials. He is also a former decorated U.S. Marine Corps pilot with 667 combat missions in Viet Nam.
